The gap between an outdoor kitchen and a standalone grill is astonishing. Out of frustration I decided to build my own grill station. The frame and skin are built out of solid cedar so it has stood strong for 5 years now. As you may already be wondering–the top has seen better days. Though it isn't from catching fire as many of the first critics were concerned but rather cupping due to moisture. I believe concrete is the way to go but would add considerable weight and at this point I think an outdoor kitchen would be easier.
