The bandsaw is a bit of a luxury tool that has a slew of unique usecases. The Ridgid model that I rescued has a few known issues that I planned to resolve. By building a custom mobile base I could move the motor below the saw and reduce the footprint. Breaking the entire saw down allowed for new bearings to be installed and the shafts and wheels to be balanced. Finally a new set of blades, tires, and belts essentially made this a new saw.
